Prayers for safety at the edge of the world
Prayers for Safety at the Edge of the World uses stencils of the Phoenician alphabet, imagery of ancient goddesses, and dried plants to reflect on Lebanon’s deep-rooted cultural history. While grounded in the symbolism of antiquity, the work also holds space for the present—echoing the pain and uncertainty brought on by the country’s ongoing crises, from the legacy of civil war to the recent financial collapse. It is both an invocation and a lament, reaching across time in search of protection, continuity, and hope.
